The Thinker Behind Your Thoughts

I think one of the keys to personal development and ultimately self-understanding is observing how your mind works, what your heart feels and what your body experiences. Huh?

I've been meditating for a few years now and I can honestly say it has changed my life. I am so much more at ease in every setting. I feel good about where I am right now and I am so grateful for all the abundance in my life including all of my family and friends.

I've learned how to "watch" my thoughts during meditation. First, you close your eyes and tune in to your breathing. When thoughts start to come (and they will) you try to observe them with emotional detachment, not engaging or trying to fight them, just sitting with them, aware of them.

Every time you get lost in a thought, pull back from it, as if you are zooming out with a camera, all the while focusing on your breath. Now, whenever I need to calm down, I remember nothing is a great thing to do.

Try it! It is so relaxing and worth your time. Taking a few minutes for myself can change the whole direction of a day gone bad.
