The biofilms simply keep the antibiotics out. The presence of these biofilms also inhibits the ability of remedies (like essential oils) from doing their healing work. You should be able to find this at any drug store or health food store.
By introducing xylitol via nasal spray you are providing a solution to the problem since xylitol breaks up biofilms.
